Terms
Terms of Use
These terms describe the responsibilities of renters, landlords, and tci.rent when using the platform.Platform purpose and scope
tci.rent is a long-term rental platform for the Turks & Caicos Islands, designed to help renters find properties and contact landlords.
The platform provides listing, search, enquiry, and landlord dashboard tools, but it is not a party to rental agreements between renters and landlords.
Using tci.rent means you agree to use the platform lawfully, respectfully, and only for genuine rental-related activity.
Landlord responsibilities
Landlords are responsible for providing accurate listing details, including price, location, availability, lease terms, property features, and photos.
Landlords must have the right to advertise the property and must update or remove listings that are no longer available or no longer accurate.
Landlords are expected to respond to enquiries professionally and comply with applicable housing, tenancy, consumer protection, and privacy obligations.
Renter responsibilities
Renters are responsible for providing truthful contact details and enquiry messages when contacting landlords through tci.rent.
Renters should independently review property details, ask questions, arrange viewings safely, and confirm lease terms before paying deposits or signing agreements.
Renters must not misuse the platform, send spam, harass landlords, impersonate others, or submit misleading information.
Verification process
To apply for landlord access, users must submit verification documents including a government-issued ID and proof they are authorised to advertise the property.
Landlord listing access is granted only after admin review and approval of submitted verification information.
We may reject, suspend, or remove landlord access and listings where information appears inaccurate, incomplete, suspicious, unlawful, or inconsistent with platform standards.
Limitation of liability
tci.rent provides a marketplace and communication tools, but rental agreements, payments, deposits, viewings, and property access are handled between renters and landlords.
We are not responsible for losses, disputes, damages, unavailable properties, inaccurate landlord statements, renter decisions, or third-party actions outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot be limited under applicable law.
How to report issues
If you see an inaccurate, suspicious, unsafe, or unavailable listing, report it to tci.rent using the contact form or the relevant listing enquiry details.
Please include the listing title, URL, and a clear description of the issue so we can review it efficiently.
We may contact the landlord, request additional information, edit visibility, or remove content while we investigate a report.
